Matt Brown and Jaden Kamen didn’t know each other, but they were seeing the same shrink, and for the same reason.  Dr. Jennings had a reputation in the gay community of helping young gay men navigate through the trauma of “coming out.”  He himself had a tough time.  While he was still in high school, his parents disowned him, and expelled him, not only from their home, but from their lives.

At sixteen Dr. Jennings found himself alone in the world.  With the help of part time jobs, and a room provided by his best friend’s mother, he managed to graduate high school.  He worked his way through college with the aid of some scholarship money.  His home was in Richmond, VA, and he was able to obtain a scholarship to The Medical College of Virginia.

His bigoted family had no idea what a fine, industrious, young man they threw out.  They could not have fathomed how successful he would be.  In fact, they knew nothing about him, not even where he lived.  They had no idea that his husband was the CEO of one of the biggest banks in Virginia.  Dr. Jennings and his husband were very wealthy.  On second thought, maybe it was best that his blue collar parents had no idea how wealthy he was.

Matt and Jaden lost their families for the same reason, but at least, they had both graduated from high school before their expulsions.

Matt’s father, Marshall, owned a very successful construction company, and was quite wealthy.  his young son had always had everything he ever wanted or needed, and now he found himself out on the street.

Jaden’s father, Bernard, was not as well off as Marshall Brown, but he was more than comfortable.  He owned a fashionable ladies’ boutique in the very upscale Short Pump Mall.  Jaden had also had everything he wanted, and had to learn to fend for himself when he was kicked out of his home.

Each of them was able to attend The University of Virginia with partial scholarships and part time jobs.  Although they were attending the same school, and seeing the same shrink, they had not yet met.  Jaden saw the doctor every Wednesday afternoon, and Matt saw him on Thursdays.  For whatever reason, they had no classes together.

At each one of their regular sessions, Dr. Jennings announced to all his patients, who had suffered the same abuse, that he was starting a group therapy weekly meeting.  It would only be for one hour on Friday evenings.  The men would still have plenty of time for Friday night dates and clubbing.  He urged all the men he spoke to, to attend the therapy sessions.

“There will be no extra charge, and you’ll get a lot of support mingling with men in the same boat as you’re in,” he assured all his patients.  He invited nine of them.  In all, six of them showed up.  Jaden and Matt were among the six.

At the first session, Dr. Jennings addressed the group.  “All we’ll do today is introduce each other, and tell how we were disinherited from our homes and families.  In future sessions we’ll discuss the effect this has had on our lives and our ambitions.  Let’s use first names only, and make this more like we are chatting in a friend’s living room. Let’s keep it informal.  Since I’m a kindred soul, I’ll start.

“My name is Mark.  I came out when I was a junior in high school.  I was barely sixteen, but I was evicted from the only home I had ever known, and found myself out on the streets.  The mother of a very good friend of mine gave me a bed.  The friend was straight, by the way, and his family knew the circumstances I found myself in.  They felt sorry for me anyway.  Because of their kindness, I knew that there were good people in the world, so I tried not to be bitter.  I worked my way through high school, college, and med school.  You can see where I am today, and you guys can be even more successful.  Just don’t let your circumstances discourage you or stand in your way.”

The six young men introduced themselves, and recited similar tales of woe.  In later sessions they would discuss the effect this had on their social and sex lives, but this evening was just introductory, as Dr. Jennings had said.

Matt and Jaden were the only two who were attending college.  Two of the others had secured sales positions.  One was fortunate enough to get a slot in a retail executive training program.  The fourth was an auto mechanic, who loved his work.  They were all satisfied with where they were today.  It seemed that only Matt and Jaden had higher aspirations, and that drew the two of them together.

When they introduced themselves, and learned that they were both freshman at The U of VA, they grew excited.  They should have been sophomores, but each had to work for a year to earn enough money to get started in the school.  They were attracted to each other and hoped that they could become friends.  After the introductions, the seven men just sat and chatted with each other.  It was only natural that the two students paired off, and they invited themselves to go to a gay bar together after the meeting.

None of the men who attended the group session could believe how fast the hour went, and each expressed how much they were looking forward to the next meeting.  In spite of that, the two salesmen never showed up again.  One of them continued to have private therapy with the doctor.  The other did not.  Matt and Jaden continued their private sessions.  They each felt that they were beginning to put the horror of being rejected behind them, and could begin to live fulfilling lives.  But they weren’t there yet.

They were both suffering badly from separation anxiety.  Neither one could bring himself to have any kind of a meaningful relationship.  They both feared for the day the relationship would go south, and their partner would leave.  Dr. Jennings was making slow but steady progress with each of them.  He had experienced the same trauma.  The young Mark Jennings was so ashamed of his sexual orientation, that when he found himself homeless, he completely lost his libido.  He couldn’t get an erection if he tried.

After he had earned a little nest egg, Mark went to a bank to attempt to get a loan to help him with his academic expenses.  He had very little hope of success.  A good looking young man, Douglas Harper, was the loan officer at the time.  Mark and Doug were instantly attracted to each other.  Doug was able to restore Mark’s libido with lots of love and lots of patience.  Little by little their story became a classic tale of love and desire.  As an extra bit of good fortune, Doug’s family took Mark into their hearts, and he had a new family to call his own.

Richmond is not New York or Los Angeles, but it was Friday night, and the bar was pretty crowded.  However, there were empty tables and vacant stools at the bar.  They grabbed a table.

“What’s your pleasure?” Matt asked.  “I’ll get the first round.”

“A lite beer will do just fine,” Jaden answered.

“Hold the table.  I’ll be right back.”

Moments later Matt returned with two beers and a bowl of bar nuts.  They chatted for a couple of hours about nothing in particular, but at various times, they would put a hand on the other’s knee.  Neither one was aware of it.  Love never entered their minds at this early point in their relationship, but they both wanted desperately to have sex with the other.  Fear, and incomplete therapy, prevented that from happening.  They let their friendship blossom, but since neither of them wanted to take their relationship up a notch, they were satisfied to enjoy their bromance.

They both lived on campus, and they both wanted to seek off-campus housing for the next school year.  Of course, each wanted the other to be his roommate, but neither had the courage to ask.  The fear of involvement was too scary.  Finally, Matt screwed up his courage.  He vowed to ask Jaden if he would like to live with him off-campus the following year.  But there would be a caveat.  The apartment they rent would have to have separate bedrooms.  Matt presented his plan to Jaden over a beer at their favorite hangout.

“It’s a great idea,” Jaden said, “but aren’t we ever going to have sex together?”  Jaden was shocked at his own audacity.

“I’m sorry,” Matt said.  “I’m very much into one night stands, but I care for you too much to sleep with you once and then for one of us to disappear.  I’m just not ready for a committed relationship yet, but Dr. Jennings and I are working on it.”

Jaden started to laugh.  “He and I are working on the same problem.  Even so, I can safely say that I’d never run out on you.  I won’t push, but when you are ready to say the same, let’s make love.  In the meantime, I value your friendship and want to look for an apartment together.”

They gave each other a manly hug, and made sure that neither of them could feel their packages.  Their friendship continued its status-quo. Then one day something happened to upset their lives completely.  It would be more accurate to say that the incident altered their lives.

Reunion

-2-

One Sunday morning, about a month after Matt and Jaden had the conversation about moving in together, there was a knock on Matt’s dorm room door.  It was very early, and Matt and his roommate, Henry, were still in bed with nothing on except their jockeys.  Henry got out of bed, and answered the door as nearly naked as he was.  He was surprised to see a man of about forty-two or three, standing at the door.  The man was very handsome, and very hunky, but he looked frightened.  His skin color was ashen.  Henry was not embarrassed at his near nakedness.

“May I help you?” he asked the stranger.

“Yes.  Is Matt Brown in?  I’m his father, and I desperately need to talk to him.”

From where he stood, Marshall Brown could not see his son, but Matt heard every word.  He was afraid to move.  He remained firmly in his bed.

“Come in, sir,” Henry said.

Finally, Matt got his voice.  He jumped out of bed, and asked, “What could you possibly want to talk to your fag son about?”

Marshall grabbed his son and kissed him on the lips.  Matt became speechless again.

“Please,” his father began, “get dressed and have breakfast with me.  I need to apologize.  I need to tell you how much I love you, and how much I miss you.”

All Matt could manage to say was, “OK.”  Then, looking at Henry, he added, “Keep this guy company while I shit, shower, and shave.  I’ll make it as fast as I can.”

As soon as Matt left the room, his father said to Henry, “I’d like to invite you to join us, but I need to talk with Matt about some very private matters.  Perhaps we can take a rain check.”

“Sure, no problem.  That would be nice,” Henry muttered.

Marshall took Matt to a nearby coffee shop.  They were both very nervous.  Matt was as pale as his father.

After they were seated and ordered breakfast, Matt said, “OK, talk.”

“Your mother passed away about three months ago,” Marshall began.  “I didn’t know how to reach you to tell you.  After I finally got myself together, I found you through Google.  If I hadn’t, I would have hired a detective.  I was desperate to contact you, and ask you to forgive me.”

“Forgive you for not telling me that my mother had died, or for kicking me out on the streets?”

“Please, son, I know you’re bitter, but let me have my say, and then you can have yours.  It’s tough enough for me to face you, so cut me a little slack.”

“Talk!” Matt said harshly.

“I swear, Matt, I never wanted to kick you out.  I didn’t give a fuck that you were gay.  I loved you no matter what.  I still do.”

A sob escaped from Marshall’s mouth, but Matt didn’t just shed a minor tear.  He was crying, and trying to steady his shaking body.

“But you did do it,” Matt whined.  “Why?”

“Your mother told me that if I didn’t get rid of you, then she would.  In spite of everything, I still loved her.  I did what she asked.  After you were gone, not a day went by that I didn’t regret what I had done.  I actually became short tempered with your mother.  Everything she did annoyed me.  It got worse every day.  I began to despise her.  I was getting ready to ask for a divorce, when she developed heart failure, so I held back.  You didn’t cry when I told you she was dead.  For your information, neither did I.”

Matt wanted to speak, but he didn’t know what to say.  He also felt that his father had more to tell him.  Just then their breakfast was delivered, and both men remained silent until the waiter left.  Then Marshall resumed speaking.

“I have more to confess,” he said.

Matt just nodded, so his father continued.

“This is the part that’s hard for me to tell you, so please be patient with me.”

“I once had hoped I could tell you anything,” Matt said, “but I was wrong.  I’ll be a bigger man than you.  Tell me what you want to.  I swear, I won’t judge you or kick you out, like you did to me.”

“Matt, I’m gay.”

Matt could not believe what he had just heard, and asked, “What?”

“Unlike you,” Marshall said, as he glanced down at their uneaten food, “I was ashamed, and swore not to live a gay life.  When I met your mother, I genuinely loved her, and I thought I could kick the habit, but as you well know, it’s not a habit.  It’s who we are.”

Matt was too stunned to speak, so Marshall continued.  “I hate to admit it, but I cheated on her with men several times these past few years.  When you came out, I wanted to embrace you, and urge you to be true to yourself, but I didn’t want your mother to get suspicious.”

“You’re not just saying this to make amends, are you?” Matt asked.

“No, it’s true.  I want more than a reconciliation.  I want you to move home.  I want to finance your education.”

“It’s very tempting, Dad, but at this point it’s more complicated than that.  I have made a life for myself.  I have a boyfriend.  We met at a support group that my shrink put together.  It’s for men who were disowned when they came out.  Jaden and I are going to look for off-campus housing together for the rest of our college years.”

“Honestly, that’s not a problem.  He can move in with us also.  I’d like to help him out.”

“Are you serious?”

“Very serious,” Marshall assured Matt.  “You can’t imagine how happy it makes me that you have found love.”

“I’m not sure I have found love yet, Dad.  Jaden and I have never slept together.  I’m afraid to get too close to him.  I’d die if he left me also.”

That last statement caused Marshall to cringe with guilt.

Just then Matt heard his name being called.  It was Jaden.

“I went to your room to ask you to have Sunday brunch with me, and Henry told me that you went out with your father.  I figured I’d find you here.”

Matt and his father were seated at a table for four, so Jaden sat down on one of the vacant chairs.

“Introduce me to your father, and tell me what’s going on,” Jaden said.  “I thought he never wanted to see you or speak to you again.”

“It’s too long a story.  Order breakfast, and then we’ll go to my dad’s house, and I’ll tell you everything.”

“Are you sure you want to go to your father’s house after what he did to you?” Jaden asked.  The whole idea was incredulous to him.  He felt that if it was his father, he would tell him, and not too politely, to fuck off.

Marshall put one hand on Jaden’s shoulder, and the other on Matt’s.  “Please,” he said, “you don’t know how long I’ve yearned for this day.”

Jaden and Matt couldn’t say a word.  They just shrugged their shoulders.

When they got to Marshall’s house, they sat down in the living room, and Marshall repeated his tale.  He needed to explain and he continued to apologize over and over again.  From time to time, poor Jaden could only mutter, “no shit.”  When he learned that Matt’s dad was gay, all he could say was, “no fucking way.”  Matt and his dad laughed.

“I’ve always wanted to reconnect with you, Matt, but something has happened to me that has spurred me on.  I’ve fallen in love with one of my co-workers, my construction foreman.  He’s the one who urged me to contact you.  His name is Alfred, but everyone calls him Freddie.  When I get cutesy with him, I call him Alfie.  He’s moving in with me very shortly, and it’s my burning wish for all of us to live together, and be a family.”

Matt and Jaden didn’t know what to say.  Finally, when Matt was able to think again, he asked, “When can we meet him, Dad?”

“I’ll call him and ask him to come right over.  I’m so happy, I’d like to take us all out to dinner tonight as a reunion celebration.”

“Great,” Matt and Jaden said together.

“While we’re waiting for Fred, Matt, why don’t you show Jaden your room.  The two of you can start moving in immediately.  Please do it quickly.”

Matt grabbed Jaden’s hand and literally pulled him into the bedroom which used to be his, and which he could now reclaim.  When they were alone, Matt closed the door.  He wrapped his arms around Jaden and began to kiss him passionately.

“Do you remember,” Matt asked, “that you said I should tell you when I was ready to say, I’ll never leave you?  You said that was when we could make love together.”

“Are you ready?” Jaden asked, hopefully.

“I’m absolutely ready.  I’ve never wanted anything more.”

“I’ve got an idea,” Jaden said.  “After we meet Fred, let’s go to the dorms and pack a few necessities for school tomorrow.  I want to sleep here tonight.  We might as well break in the bed.”

“Don’t forget condoms and lube when we go to get our stuff later.  Let’s not spoil or neglect tonight,” Matt laughed, “and after classes tomorrow, let’s start moving our stuff here.  I don’t have very much.  I could probably make it one trip.”

While they were waiting for Fred to arrive, Matt told his father what their plans were.

“I’ve got a better idea,” Marshall said.  “We’ll go to dinner in two cars, and after dinner, Fred and I can help you move all your stuff here.  When he moves in with us, we’ll all help him.”

Marshall enveloped Matt in his strong arms, and they both began to cry.  Jaden was standing by, and he started to cry also.  Marshall waved him over and hugged them both.

“I’ve never been happier in my life, Marshall said.  “I’ll have everyone I love under one roof, my roof.”

Matt and Jaden slobbered him with kisses.

Marshall worked out regularly.  He was not only very handsome, he was a hunk.  He certainly looked like a stereotypical construction worker.  When Fred came in, Jaden and Matt could only stare at him.  They were awestruck.  Fred was more handsome, and even hunkier than Marshall.  The young men began to get aroused.  Finally, when Marshall and Fred stopped kissing each other, Jaden found his voice before Matt did.

“Thank you, Fred,” he said, “for encouraging Matt’s dad to reconcile with him.  Sure, I’m happy for them, but Matt’s my soulmate, and now I have a family again also.”

That last statement so moved Fred, that he grabbed Jaden in a bear hug.  Jaden was sure his ribs would break.

“You don’t know it,” Fred said, “but I’m alone too.  I have a family now also.  I have people to come home to, instead of an empty apartment.”  It was his turn to start crying.  Nobody was going to have dry eyes on this miraculous day.

When Marshall told Fred that their sons were going to sleep over tonight, he went from crying to laughing.

“I’ve got most of my stuff here already.  Like it or not Marshall, I’m sleeping over too.”

“I’m so happy,” Marshall kept repeating over and over again.

*****

After dinner, they arrived at the dorms in two cars.  Fred helped Jaden load all his stuff into his car and Marshall helped Matt.  It didn’t take very long.  Matt and Jaden said goodbye to their roommates, who were glad they would have private rooms for the rest of the academic year.  That would certainly improve their sex lives.

Putting everything away in closets and dresser drawers in their new home, (actually, Matt’s old home), didn’t take any longer than the packing had. They were finished in no time.

When everybody was settled, Marshall made coffee, which he served with donuts, but he could see how anxious his sons were to get to bed.  He silently vowed not to delay their long awaited entry into paradise.  The young men went to bed before the older men, who were not nearly so starved for sex.  They continued to smooch in the living room.

Once they were alone in their bedroom, Matt and Jaden literally ripped off their clothing, and fell into each other’s arms.  Notwithstanding the fact that they had seen each other naked, even at full mast, they gazed at each other’s bodies for a good five minutes.  They were both cut and about seven inches of hardness at the moment.  Jaden started to cry.

“I love your father so much,” he slobbered.  “If he hadn’t reached out to you, you would never have reached out to me.  Now I have you, and a family as an extra bonus.  I love you now; I’ll always love you.  Please love me back a little.”

“I have to say it,” Matt laughed.  “You’re an idiot.  I told you I’d love you forever, and I will never, ever, leave you.”

The two men stopped staring at each other They grabbed for each other’s cocks and fell into one another’s arms.  They kissed for at least ten minutes, each growing more passionate by the minute.  Then they fell on their bed in a sixty-nine position.  Neither one of them was a virgin, and the pleasure they were giving each other blew their minds.

Suddenly, Matt pulled away.  “Let yourself go,” he said to Jaden.  “We’ll fuck after we recover. I want to savor your cum.”

“I know you brought condoms and lube, but can we get tested as soon as possible.  I never want to use a condom again.”

“I promise,” Matt responded.

So, they went back to sucking.  They each came in their partner’s mouth, and each swallowed every drop.  Then they lay side by side, holding hands, and crying softly.

“I’m so happy,” Matt said.

“I’m happier,” Jaden mumbled in Matt’s ear.

They had anal sex a couple of hours later, and then the tears grew more plentiful than ever.  Before they fucked, they rimmed each other back and forth, and kept telling each other how much each loved the other.

“I want to make love to you like this, every night for the rest of my life,” Jaden begged.

“You’re on,” Matt whispered, as he kissed Jaden for the millionth time.

Marshall and Fred finally went to bed.  They stripped as rapidly as their sons had, but there was no need to ogle.  They had been sexually active with each other even before Matt’s mother died.   They were both uncut and about seven and a half inches when aroused.  Like Jaden and Matt, they also started out by playing sixty-nine, but they stopped before they came.  Then they had unprotected anal sex.  Each came high up in each other’s bowels.  Afterward, they lay side by side, holding hands, and professing their love.

“You know what?” Fred asked.  “I’ve already arranged to contribute my furniture to an AID’s charity.  What say after dinner tomorrow, the four of us go to my apartment and bring over the rest of my personal belongings.  I never want to spend another day outside of these walls.”

“What a great idea, and I know the boys will be pleased.”

At breakfast, the four men kept crying.  Jaden and Matt kept embracing their fathers and never stopped thanking Fred for bringing them all together.

Marshall told the boys that there was a bus to the university that stopped at the next corner.

“I think we’ll have to buy you guys a car,” he said.  That started another round of tears from Jaden and Matt.  Until now, every day had been a struggle to afford to stay in school.  Suddenly, they became aware that their fathers intended to take care of all their needs.

At the first chance they had, Mark and Jaden went together to tell Dr. Jennings why their sessions were to be ended.  Jennings embraced them in a group hug.  “I’m so happy for both of you,” he said.  “You see, sometimes life does have happy endings.  I’m living proof, and now you two are also.”

The fathers wanted to be able to socialize with their sons, so at their insistence, Matt and Jaden gave up their part time jobs.  The four men started to go clubbing together almost every weekend.  Marshall and Fred knew a lot of the patrons at the gay bar they went to.  They introduced Jaden and Matt as their kid brothers, and no one doubted that for one second.

Strange as it seems, the reunion of fathers and sons, not only rejuvenated all of them, but the older men seemed to glow with youth.  They actually looked younger every day.  Happiness will do that to you.
